Over the past two years, She Leads Africa (SLA) has trained over 400 women, disbursed $50,000 in funding and facilitated investments of $1.2 million for Africa female entrepreneurs.
Earlier this year the fast-growing community group launched their SheHive Tour 2016, a bootcamp bringing together female professionals to learn new business skills, network with their peers and connect directly with potential mentors and investors.
Previous editions of the SheHive have been held in Lagos, Accra, Abuja, New York and Nairobi. This month, it arrives in London for the first time, and AB2020 is collaborating with SLA to offer an exclusive ticket giveaway to our network.
Whether you’re interested in building a business, launching a career in Africa, or looking for ways to tap into the continent’s growth story, there will be something for anybody interested in Africa’s burgeoning entrepreneurial community at #SheHiveLondon.
SLA co-founder Afua Osei says: ‘In the US and UK men dominate the business and corporate landscape. But with so many new industries being created in Africa and for communities in the diaspora, we have the opportunity to change things now.
‘Young women should be encouraged to take leadership roles in startups and corporate organisations and supported along their journey towards professional success. It doesn’t matter if you’re first generation, a recent expat or African American, we all have a shared history and opportunity to make things better.’
#SheHiveLondon will take place over four days at Facebook’s London offices on Euston Road from 18th to 21st August.
