Leading Investors to Headline Angel Fair Africa in Tanzania
Tanzania businessman Ali Mufuruki, South African investor Andile Ngcaba (pictured) and Silicon Valley venture capitalist Tim Draper have been announced as the keynote speakers for the 7th Angel Fair Africa (AfA) event taking place in Dar, Tanzania on 10-11th October 2019.
AfA, presented by growth capital investment firm Chanzo Capital, was founded five years ago to address the need in the emerging African entrepreneurial and investment ecosystem for entrepreneurs and investors to come together and do deals.
This year’s event will be held as part of Sahara Sparks – a platform for dynamic stakeholders to meet and reflect on the role of technology, innovation and entrepreneurship on fostering social economic development in Africa in the era of 4th Industrial Revolution.
AfA’s keynote speakers are anticipated to bring a plethora of knowledge and value to the upcoming fair:
Ali Mufuruki is founder of Infotech Investment Group, and board chairman of Vodacom Tanzania and Wananchi Group Holdings among other accolades; meanwhile, Andile Ngcaba is a commissioner of the Presidential Commission on the 4th Industrial Revolution set up by South Africa’s President Cyril Ramaphosa. He is also the Chairman of Convergence Partners through which he has invested in infrastructure and communications companies including CSquared with Google.
Regarded as one of the most influential people in Silicon Valley, Tim Draper is an American venture capital investor and founder of Draper Fisher Jurvetson (DFJ), Draper University, Draper Venture Network, and Draper Associates. Some of his prominent investments include Hotmail, Skype, Tesla, Twitter, DocuSign, Coinbase, and Ancestry.com.
